Chamberlain Scholarships

The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy sponsors the Chamberlain Scholarship Program. This supports part of the cost of attending the AFP International Conference. The next International Conference will be in 2013.

The Western PA Chapter matches this grant from the B. Jeanne Williams Scholarship Fund. One individual will be selected to receive the $1,000 award, $500 will be paid directly to the Conference by AFP and the remaining $500 will be sent to the recipient from the chapter.

B. Jeanne Williams Scholarships

B. Jeanne Williams, ACFRE, was a founding member of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE), now known at the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP). She was passionate about fund raising, professional development and mentoring fellow development officers. In recognition of her significant contributions and service to the profession and the organization, the scholarship program was named in her honor.

In general, because the organization believes that employer organizations must invest in their employees and their professional development, partial scholarships are offered depending on funds available. Funds coming back to the chapter from the chapter and AFP International.

Emerging Philanthropy Conference. Partnering with the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council, this conference will be held on April 25, 2013. Click here to download the scholarship application.

CFRE Review Course. Sponsored by the chapter in odd-numbered years and is intended as a brush up for the CFRE examination. The course will be offered again in 2013.

Fundamentals of Fundraising. Intended for those new to the profession or wanting a refresher in fund raising fundamentals, this course is offered in even-numbered years. Fundamentals was held November 8 & 9, 2012.
