This special program will take an honest look at various dynamics that impact diversity and inclusion and how these impact personal, interpersonal, and institutional growth within nonprofit organizations. Together we will explore and define ways to foster an understanding and appreciation of our differences in order to create a welcoming and diverse environment that best reflects our core values.  Through facilitated discussion, participants will foster an appreciation of our differences in efforts to create a welcoming and diverse environment within our community and institutions.

About the Presenter

Chaz Kellem is the Senior Director, Advocacy for Race & Gender Equity at YWCA Greater Pittsburgh. He earned his Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Robert Morris University and his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Edinboro University. For almost 10 years, Chaz worked for the Pittsburgh Pirates as the Manager of Diversity Initiatives, where he was responsible for managing the organization’s interaction with various minority constituencies. Chaz departed from the Pirates organization, in October 2015, to accept the position as the Senior Director of Race & Gender Equity with the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh. He serves on several non-profit boards including the Visit Pittsburgh, CORO Pittsburgh, ACHIEVA, and HOPE Network.  Chaz currently serves as an adjunct professor at Seton Hill University within the Business Department.
